You must take this course in addition to the CFSC in order to obtain a restricted PAL (or “RPAL”). Restricted firearms include handguns and certain rifles and shotguns.

Often, you will need an RPAL for certain types of employment. CBSA, Armoured Car, Wildlife ATC etc.

You must already have a Non Restricted PAL or taken your Non Restricted Firearms Class snf br 18 or over.
